Town of Truro, Assessing Department, Summary of Tax Exemption Programs FY2024

The Assessing Department offers Tax Exemptions for individuals who meet certain guidelines which assist in reducing their tax burden. This chart introduces the tax exemptions that the Town of Truro offers for its residents.

Seniors 65+ meeting income and/or asset guidelines may be eligible for these exemptions, as well as having the eligibility to defer their taxes at a 4% interest rate. Disabled veterans, surviving spouses, and the blind may also be eligible for exemptions off their tax bill. These exemptions are in addition to the Residential Exemption program that currently exists in Truro.
