PRESS RELEASE - Truro Home Explosion and Fire

PRESS RELEASE - April 21, 2023 (Truro, MA) At approximately 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, the Truro Fire Department, along with firefighters from neighboring towns, responded to a large structural fire located at 8A Harding’s Way in Truro.

The explosion could be felt as far away as Brewster, said Chief Timothy Collins. The home was unoccupied at the time of the explosion and no injuries were reported. Firefighters successfully prevented the fire from spreading to nearby properties, however, multiple homes sustained exterior damage. The home is considered a complete loss.

The cause of the explosion and fire remains undetermined and is currently being investigated by the Fire Marshal for the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services.
