PRESS RELEASE - LCAA: A Legacy of Excellence in Truro's Emergency Medical Services

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 1, 2023 – The Town of Truro is bidding a bittersweet farewell to its long-standing emergency medical service provider, the Lower Cape Ambulance Association (LCAA). For over eight decades, LCAA has been a trusted partner in ensuring the health and safety of our community members in Truro and neighboring Provincetown.

Since its inception in 1937, LCAA has been synonymous with exceptional care, rapid response, and unwavering dedication to the well-being of our residents and visitors. Their commitment to excellence in emergency medical services has saved countless lives and provided reassurance to our community during times of crisis.

The Town of Truro wishes to express its profound appreciation to the board members, administrative staff, and the many dedicated paramedics, EMTs, and support personnel who have been the heart and soul of LCAA throughout the years. Your tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to our community have not gone unnoticed, and we are immensely grateful for your service.

"While it is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to LCAA, we must also look forward to new beginnings," said Town Manager Darrin Tangeman. "Today we implemented our seamless transition plan to ensure that our community continues to receive the high-quality emergency medical services it deserves."

Residents can rest assured that emergency services will remain accessible and reliable during this transition period. The Town of Truro will work tirelessly to ensure that the level of care and response time remains consistent with the high standards set by LCAA.
