Do you own chickens? cows? horses?

Did you know that when you own livestock, even if you are NOT a commercial farm, that you need to register with your local Health Department?  The Health Agent is a Municipal Animal Inspector and works alongside the Animal Control Officer.  The Municipal Animal Inspector is required to conduct "barn inspections" per State law.

Barn inspections are designed to:

1.) get a good census of the domestic animal population of the town

2.) be sure that all of the animals appear to be in good health and free from disease, and

3.) observe animal housing and ensure ample food and water are supplied.
