Minutes of Virtual Meeting
July 23, 2021
Present: Chair Mary Rose; Anne Greenbaum, Susan Howe, Diane Messinger, Jane Petterson, Jim Summers
Regrets: Bonnie Brown-Bonse
Chair Mary Rose called the meeting to order at 12:15 p.m.
Members
CPC members welcomed new members Diane Messinger. Diane Messinger will serve as the representative from the Conservation Commission. Bonnie Brown-Bonse has been appointed as a member at-large. CPC needs a second member at-large and is still without a representative for Recreation.
Election of Officers
Mary Rose offered to continue as a co-chair, partnering Jim Summers, who agreed to share the position with her.
Susan Howe moved to appoint Mary Rose and Jim Summers as co-chairs of the Community Preservation Commission. Anne Greenbaum seconded, and the motion carried 5-0.
Town Meeting results
Mary Rose said that the swift passage of all parts of the CPC Warrant Article at Annual Town Meeting, held June 26, 2021, didn’t allow her time to address any of them or introduce the mini grant concept.
Mini grants
Anne Greenbaum explained how mini grants were developed to encourage more groups doing smaller projects to participate in Community Preservation efforts through a simpler process. CPC will publicize the mini grants through press releases and introduce the concept through an open meeting for interested parties.
CPC Plan
The subcommittee will meet on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. to finalize the draft CPC Plan.
Agreements for projects
Jim Summers will seek clarification about agreement approvals by town counsel. He agreed to get signatures from the recipients before the town manager’s final signature on the agreements.
Project reports/concerns
Jim Summer discussed an extension of the FY19 agreement with Payomet Theater for the circus ariel truss.
Susan Howe moved to grant the extension of one more year. Mary Rose seconded, and the motion carried 5-0.
Mary Rogers said that she would be filing the CP-3 report on CPC projects with the DOR during August. Trudi Brazil completes the CP-1 and CP-2 reports.
Next meeting
The next CPC meeting was scheduled for Friday, September 10, 2021 at 5 p.m.
Adjournment
Jim Summers moved to adjourn. Dianne Messinger seconded, and the motion carried 6-0.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:50 p.m.
