Truro Community Preservation Committee

Minutes of Meeting of February 2, 2018                    

Truro Town Hall

Present: Co-Chair Deborah McCutcheon, Co-Chair Mary Rose; Maureen Cronin, Peter Herridge, Richard Larkin, Rex McKinsey, Jane Petterson, Bonnie Sollog

Co-Chair Deborah McCutcheon called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m.

Minutes of 1/12/18
Rex McKinsey moved to approve the amended minutes of January 12, 2018.  Richard Larkin seconded, and the motion carried 8-0.

Response to Newspaper Article
A recent article in the Banner had characterized CPC as non-supportive of Community Housing efforts.  The Committee agreed to send a letter of rebuttal to the newspaper.  

Rex McKinsey moved that Deborah McCutcheon send a letter to the Banner on behalf of the entire CPC with suggestions members made.  Richard Larkin seconded, and the motion carried 8-0. 

Coalition Dues
The Community Preservation Coalition had sent the bill for annual membership and gave notice of their new address. 

Richard Larkin moved to approve paying Community Preservation Coalition dues for 2018 in the amount of $1,750.  Mary Rose seconded, and the motion carried 8-0.

Payomet Request
Deborah McCutcheon said she had discussed the Payomet request for circus rigging with Coalition Director Stuart Saginor.  Mr. Saginor said that buying recreational equipment or removable structures was not an allowable use of CPA funds.

Warrant Articles & Annual Report
A subcommittee will review the draft Warrant Articles and Annual Report and prepare them for submission.

Existing Project Concerns
Rex McKinsey gave an update on progress at Puma Park.  There is work needed on the surfacing at the entrance and within the playground.  Repairs are underway while the park is closed.   The two Habitat volunteer days are Tuesdays and Saturdays, Maureen Cronin said.

Richard Larkin moved to adjourn.  Maureen Cronin seconded, and the motion carried 8-0.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:35 p.m.
