Truro Community Preservation Committee
Minutes of Meeting of April 8, 2016
Truro Town Hall
Members Present: Co-Chair Deborah McCutcheon, Co-Chair Mary Rose; Maureen Cronin, Richard Larkin, Robert Lowe, Bonnie Sollog, Lisa Maria Tobia
Co-Chair Deborah McCutcheon called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m.
Minutes of 3/11/16
Robert Lowe moved to approve the minutes of March 11, 2016. Richard Larkin seconded, and the motion carried 6-0.
CPC Concerns
Richard Larkin reported on a CPA event at Boston City Hall that he had attended. Boston is now considering joining the Community Preservation Act communities.
Town Meeting Update
Deborah McCutcheon distributed the printed Warrant for Annual Town Meeting. She suggested that CPC members attend Pre-Town Meeting and said everyone should be at Town Meeting. The Board discussed the lease agreement for the Highland House Museum. The Board also discussed correct use and control of CPA funds.
Housing Update
Deborah McCutcheon reviewed assistance possibilities for Highland Affordable Housing and discussed Affordable Housing programs, including deed restrictions. There is talk of creating an Affordable Housing Fund, she said.
Summer Outreach
The Recreation Committee needs to send a representative to CPC. They have a grant that they are interested in repurposing. Deborah McCutcheon suggested that each of the CPC members contact groups that correspond with their area of representation.
Agenda for Next Meeting
Agenda for the May 13, 2016 meeting will include: Committee organization, elections, members and a possible presentation from the CPA Coalition.
Adjournment
Richard Larkin moved to adjourn. Robert Lowe seconded, and the motion carried 7-0.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
