Truro Community Preservation Committee
Minutes of Meeting of October 17, 2014
Truro Town Hall, 4:15 p.m.
Members Present: Mary Rose, Acting Chair; Maureen Cronin, Richard Larkin, Robert Lowe, Bonnie Sollog
Regrets: William Golden, Jane Petterson, Lisa Tobia, Paul Wisotzky
Acting Chair Mary Rose called the meeting to order at 4:34 p.m.
Minutes
Larkin moved to approve the minutes of September 19, 2014. Sollog seconded, and the motion carried 5-0.
Introduction
Mary Rogers, who is joining the Truro CPC as an Administrative Consultant, gave her background on working as the CPC Coordinator for Wellfleet. Committee members welcomed her back to Truro, where she had served as Building Department Secretary.
Preservation Restriction for Meetinghouse
Friends of the Meeting House had been asked to provide verification of the recorded Historic Preservation Restriction for the Truro Congregational Meeting House that had been filed with the Massachusetts Historic Commission. Robert Lowe will check on its status.
CPC Plan
Mary Rose said that the CPC plan updates need to be completed by the end of the year. Mary Rogers will prepare a draft update of the plan as soon as possible.
Organization
Since Deborah McCutcheon, chair of the CPC has taken a temporary leave of absence, Mary Rose has become acting chair. Jane Petterson had agreed to be temporary vice-chair.
Bonnie Sollog nominated Jane Petterson as temporary vice-chair. Maureen Cronin seconded, and the motion carried 5-0.
Other Concerns
Since the deadline for project applications of November 1, 2014 falls on a Saturday this year, the deadline will be extended. The extension date of Monday, November 3 will be posted on the Town website and published in the newspaper.
James Summer the financial vice president of the Historical Society is interested in a streamlined process for invoicing bills. Richard Larkin will put him in contact with Mary Rogers for future invoices.
The Committee discussed holding an outreach program in spring that will need preparation and publicity. Members also discussed the possibility of emphasizing Housing in the next round of funding.
Next Meeting
The next meeting will be held Friday, November 7, 2014 at 4:15 p.m. A first review of new project applications will be on the agenda.
Adjournment
Larkin moved to adjourn. Sollog seconded, and the motion carried 5-0.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:06 p.m.
