CPC Meeting Minutes

4:15 p.m.

Truro Town Hall

 

Members Present: Deborah McCutcheon, Mary Rose, Bill Golden, Maureen Cronin, Bonnie Sollog, Jane Petterson, Richard Larkin, Bob Lowe, Lisa Maria Tobia, Paul Wisotzky-Board of Selectmen Liaison, Nicole Smith-Secretary

 

Motion to approve the June 13, 2014 meeting minutes by Lowe and seconded by Sollog.  The motion was approved with Cronin abstaining.

 

Membership on the Committee: Members need to be renewed every 3 years. All members should check on their status with the front desk.

 

Update on CPC procedure and application book: Mary Rose, Jane Petterson and Deborah McCutcheon will work on the updated draft for the next meeting. The Committee agreed that a special session should be held for potential applicants. The session should be posted in the Banner and the e-newsletter.  Selectmen Wisotzky will announce it at the Selectmen’s meeting.  Chair McCutcheon reviewed the application process.  

 

Organization of Committee: Chair McCutcheon needs more help with the CPC paperwork and Mary Rogers has agreed to become the new CPC secretary.  Motion to approve a transition from Nicole Smith to Mary Rogers by Tobia and seconded by Rose.  Motion approved with Cronin abstaining.

 

Outreach Update: Examples of previous CPC projects will be added to outreach documents. Chair McCutcheon stated that a rough brochure should be made and distributed to members to allow for comment. The CPC section on the Town of Truro website should be reviewed and the CPC book, brochure and website should all coordinate by spring of 2015. Lisa Tobia will review the navigability of the website.

 

There is an Outer Cape affordable housing summit October 16th at Nauset Middle School from 4-6 p.m.

 

There will be a work group meeting on September 30th at Deborah’s office at 4:15 p.m.

 

Bob Lowe gave an update on Friends of Truro Meetinghouse: There is approximately $13,000 in the checking account.  100 people renewed their memberships and about 20 people did not renew. The individuals who did not renew will get a phone call.  The windows will be installed by October. Bids for other projects will be sent out by October 9th with responses required by October 16. Eleven events were held this year.

 

Jane Petterson gave an update on the Recreation Commission:  One bid was received for the tennis court/walking path project for $15,000. They have discussed negotiating the bid to lower it to $12,000 and they are discussing ways to receive more bids.

 

The Historical society and Housing Authority will be asking grant money from CPC.

 

Motion to adjourn by Golden and seconded by Sollog.  Meeting adjourned at 5:05.
