Summer Rec Youth Program

The Summer Recreation Youth Program provides seven weeks of themed programming offering daily care from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM for all children ages 5-13. The cost for residents and Truro Central School students is $50 total for all 7 weeks, while the cost for non-residents is $165 per week. To be eligible for the resident rate, the child must be either a TCS student or a Truro resident. Anyone who does not meet these requirements is still welcome to join the program as a Non-Resident.

This program is overseen by our full-time, year-round, Out-of-School Time staff and supported by a seasonal staff of high schoolers and college students who receive multiple days of training to prepare to meet the social and emotional needs of the children. 

Each week’s theme guides the activities, including a field trip every Wednesday, and a special theme day each Thursday. Every morning features outdoor games and activities, gym time, science experiments, and arts and crafts. After lunch, students participate in mindfulness activities to relax their minds and bodies before starting the afternoon’s events. Staff work hard to foster an environment of inclusivity, curiosity, and summer fun. 

Lunches are provided at no cost to all children thanks to Food 4 Kids and includes an AM snack, PM Snack, and Lunch.

Registration for 2026 opens on February 23 for residents and April 6 for non-residents!
