Position Title/Classification: Department of Public Works Office Manager

Position Pay Scale: Grade 4
Brief Statement of Duties: The purpose of this position is to support the Public Works Director in the clerical responsibilities related to the administration of the Public Works Department. Responsibilities include preparing departmental payroll, preparing department bill paying warrants, preparing departmental budget, tracking departmental paid time off, completing clerical assignments, preparing departmental bid packages, answering phone calls, relaying work assignments to staff, receiving and tracking work orders, completing sales transactions and preparing deposits of Transfer Station sales and fees, data entry work, and preparing accounting reports and analyses as directed.
Qualifications for the Position: High School Graduate, associate’s degree in accounting preferred, or related field, plus three years of bookkeeping or clerical experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a municipal environment preferred. Massachusetts driver’s license required.
