Youth Soccer

Grades K - 6

Youth Soccer is open to children in grades K - 6 who either reside in Truro or attend Truro Central School. Players from neighboring towns may be combined, with approval from the department.

Parents, Coaches, and children alike are reminded that Truro Recreation encourages the development of skills, teamwork, and social bonds. The goals of Youth Sports are to provide children an opportunity to play, exercise, and learn sportsmanship in a fun way. Any child, parent, coach, or spectator who acts in ways that prohibit these goals, threaten the physical or emotional safety and development of children, referees, or coaches, will be unable to attend the program.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: SEPT. 6, 2019

Fees:

$20.00 per child. MasterCard / Visa accepted. If you are paying by cash or check you will need to contact Truro Recreation to register. $5.00 discount for early registration.

Combined Teams

Truro Recreation will make every attempt to create a team of Truro players that will practice and play games in Truro, but due to a lack of coaches or player participation we may be required to combine with neighboring towns. In the event that Truro Recreation combines with neighboring towns the result may be Truro players attached to other towns and practicing and playing games in that town. A combination team may also require that Truro teams have players from other towns. In the event of a combined team, players will register with the recreation department that is facilitating the team.

Practices

Grades K - 2

  • Children in grades K-2 will practice once or twice a week depending on the coaches availability and field availability.
  • Practices will begin in late September.

Grades 3 - 6

  • Children in grades 3-6 will practice once or twice a week depending on the coaches availability and field availability. 
  • Specific practice times and game schedules will be distributed and posted online (see below) once coaches have been determined. All schedules are subject to change due to weather, coaching availability and unforeseen circumstances. Practice Cancellations will be determined by the Head Coaches.
  • Practices will begin in early September.

Games

There will be one game per week on Saturday and travel to neighboring towns will be required.  Home games and practices will be held at Snow's Field.

Grade 3|4
Saturdays at 10:00 am, unless otherwise noted

Grade 5|6
Saturdays at 10:00 am or 11:00 am

 

For players attached to another town's team, please contact that town's Recreation Department for information about practices or games.

Uniforms

  • Players in grades 3-6 will be issued a jersey, shorts, and socks.
  • Players in grades K-2 will be issued a team jersey.

Coaching

Truro Recreation is seeking coaches. Experience is not necessary and training is provided.  Please contact the Recreation Department if you are interested or have any questions.

Registration Deadline

Due to league schedules and appropriate roster sizes, any registrations received after the deadline will be accepted at the discretion of the Truro Recreation Department.
