Press Release-Mini Grant Program from the Truro Community Preservation Committee

Press Release from the Truro Community Preservation Committee

New Mini grant program from the Truro Community Preservation Committee

The Truro Community Preservation Committee (CPC) is pleased to announce our new Mini Grant program.   Like traditional CPC grants, funding is available in 4 areas:  Community Housing, Open Space, Historic Preservation and Recreation.  While CPC grants have traditionally had larger budgets, mini grants will be available for projects costing up to $20,000.  The application process has been simplified for mini grants to make it easier to complete. Applications can be submitted by local organizations, town boards and committees, and groups of 10 or more citizens. All grant applications are due November 1.

The goals of the mini grant program include: increasing the number and diversity of applicants; supporting creative ideas, pilot projects and studies to suggest more extensive projects for the future; and building community by working together on small, doable projects.  Some examples of potential projects are: Painting lines for Pickleball on a parking lot, creating a book about cottage colonies in Truro, creating an outdoor exhibit about the Truro Fishing industry at Cold Storage Beach, developing a sensory walking trail or funding a study on to identify creative community housing approaches in communities similar to Truro.

The public is invited to learn more about the mini grant program as well as the regular CPC grants at our meeting on Thursday October 7 at 5pm.  For more information or to discuss potential mini grant ideas, please contact:    Mary Rogers – mary.rogers@wellfleet-ma.gov
