Baker- Polito Administration to Lift COVID Restrictions May 29; Town of Truro Orders, Policies and Procedures to be Updated In Coming Weeks

Governor Baker held a press conference today to announce that all remaining COVID-19 restrictions will be lifted effective May 29th and that the State of Emergency will end June 15.  All industries will be permitted open May 29th, capacity limits will be lifted and the gathering limit will be rescinded. Face-coverings will no longer be required by the Commonwealth in most settings.  For a link to the Governor's press release, click here.

With today's announcement, the Select Board, the Board of Health and Town staff will be preparing policy and procedural recommendations for reopenings, masking, and open meetings in Truro over the coming weeks. Additional guidance from the Commonwealth is anticipated and will help to inform these policies and procedures. The Town of Truro is committed to managing this transition deliberately, thoughtfully and carefully and will spend the coming weeks analyzing data, reviewing guidance, and considering the specific needs of Truro. Policies, orders or procedures that are updated will be included on the Town of Truro website, but are not expected prior to June 1, 2021. We thank you for your patience as the Select Board, the Board of Health and Town staff work collaboratively to enter safely into this exciting new phase and we remind you that until such time as policies, orders, and procedures are updated, the following are still in effect:
