2023 Annual Town Election Official Recount Results
 
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Truro, MA - May 22, 2023 - The Town of Truro has completed a thorough recount of the votes for the Community Sustainability Package (Question #2) as cast during the Annual Town Election held on May 9, 2023. Under the supervision of Town Counsel Lauren Goldberg of KP Law, Town Clerk Kaci Fullerton, and the Board of Registrars, the recount yielded the following verified results: 293 "yes" votes, 290 "no" votes, and 7 blank ballots.
 
The recount process commenced at 10 a.m. after the necessary blocking procedures were carried out earlier in the day, starting at 9 a.m. A dedicated team of participants, including Town Clerks from various Cape towns, the Wellfleet Election Warden, and Truro Town Staff, worked collaboratively to ensure the accuracy of the recount.
 
In accordance with Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 54, Section 135, transparency remained a top priority throughout the recount. The proceedings took place in a designated area accessible to the public, allowing for full visibility of all materials utilized during the process. Exclusive access to the recount area, alongside the recount workers, was granted to the proponents, opponents, and their agents.
