Positions Available: Firefighter/Paramedic - Grade 6
 
Description: Union position. Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Valid Paramedic Certification required OR applicants attending school and within six months of certification. Firefighter I/II Pro-Board certification preferred.

Salary: Hourly Range: $35.31- $46.08 (effective July 1, 2023), depending on qualifications. Rotational 24-hour shift schedule, plus a $3,000 SIGN-ON BONUS. No residency requirements.
 
Bonus Fine Print: The bonus will be awarded as a stipend in the amount of $3,000 and shall be paid in three (3) installments: $1,000 will be paid in the pay period following the employee’s date of hire; $1,000 will be paid in the pay period following the successful completion of the sixth month of probation; and $1,000 will be paid upon successful completion of the one-year probationary period.
 
Benefits: Special Assignment Stipends: (EMS Officer, DICO, Certified Fire Inspector, Certified Fire Instructor, and Certified Unmanned Aircraft Systems); Cell phone plan reimbursement of $50 per month or issuance of a town-owned phone; Educational incentive up to a master’s degree for $3,500 per year; Tuition reimbursement for paramedicine certification (up to $5,000 per year); Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA); Health Care Opt-Out program ($4,000 for a family plan and $2,000 for an individual plan); 15 paid holidays (approximately $6,000 to $8,000 in addition to the base pay for paramedics).
