License Plate Recognition at Transfer Station

            Effective May 1, 2017, the Transfer Station will no longer be selling traditional Transfer Station stickers and will instead utilize license plate recognition software to verify permit holders.  Starting July 1, 2017, to gain access to the Transfer Station all users will apply for a permit by registering their license plates for any vehicles that will be used to access the Transfer Station. 

Permits applications may be completed online through the Town of Truro website (self-serve kiosks are also available for online permitting at Truro Town Hall and the Truro Community Center for those who need assistance or who do not have computer/internet access). Please be prepared to upload required documents and to pay by MasterCard/ VISA to complete online transactions.

In-person applications will be made available June 9, 2018 through September 2, 2018 at the Truro Beach Office.

7 days per week, 8 am- 4 pm

Residents will still be able to register up to three vehicles per household.  To register a license plate, the applicant must appear on the current Assessor’s list of residential property owners or appear on the Town’s current census.  Year round residents who are not real estate tax payers may provide proof of residency with vehicle registration that has a home address located in Truro, driver’s license that has a home address located in Truro, utility bills for the Truro property, a copy of deed with Truro address (not a P.O. Box), or a current year round rental agreement for a property in Truro.
