***Public Notice of Scheduled Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Flight.  Truro Hazard Mitigation Plan Data Collection***

The project – As part of Truro’s Hazard Mitigation Planning process, the Department of Public Works will be conducting a UAV flight along the Pamet River Valley from Pamet Harbor to Ballston Beach. The UAV will gather aerial imagery of the Pamet River Valley system to document current coastal change. The small UAV will capture oblique images of the coastline and video of the river system. Any identifiable people will be digitized out during editing of the raw dataset.  Airshark, a certified commercial operator, will fly the UAV with a certified FAA pilot and visual observer. The small UAV will be flown at 200-400 feet above ground and operations will have the required authorizations from the FAA, NPS, State and Local entities before the flight. The UAV will be flown over the river and personnel will have signs, radios and safety vests during the flight. The flight will be conducted during the day sometime within the next two weeks depending on the weather.
