Door-to-Door Van Transportation On Demand, call the COA for an appointment. Please call atleast 24 to 48 hours in advance. Heating Fuel Assistance Help with the cost of Heating Fuel. Call the COA Outreach Coordinator at 508.487.2462 x 11 for an appointment.
Information and Referral Assistance We may be able to find information or make a referral to another service. Please call the COA Outreach Coordinator at 508.487.2462 x 11 for an appointment to discuss your needs.
Legal Services Attorney Monthly on the 2nd Wednesday
Medical Equipment We have some medical equipment, such as wheel chairs, etc available for loan. Please call the COA Outreach Coordinator at 508.487.2462 x 11
Reassurance Program In conjunction with the Truro Police Department and as part of the TRIAD program, It is designed for seniors in the Town of Truro who live alone or live with an ailing spouse or relative to determine if all is well once per day. Anyone wishing to join the program is invited to call the police department at 508-487-8730 to sign up.
SHINE Servicing Health Insurance Needs of Elders (SHINE). A state certified volunteer counselor assists with questions seniors may encounter with changes in medical insurance programs including Medicare and HMO's and other programs. SHINE is a state-funded program providing free health insurance counseling to seniors. Call the Eastham COA at 508.240.2327 (Sandy or Tess) for an appointment.

Senior Municipal Tax Program (SMTP)

Take advantage of Truro's Senior Citizen Tax Credit Program, by using your skills or develop new ones working for a town department.

Earn a Real Estate Tax credit of up to $1,000.00 by working at an hourly rate of $8.00 for 125 hours or up to $500.00 for 62.5 hours.

Applicant must be:
  • 60 years old or older.
  • Truro must be principal residence as of July 1 of the prior year.
  • Must own real estate and be on the deed.
  • Other restrictions and requirements may apply.
